"which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." — Ephesians 1:20,21

Do you own a bible dictionary?

If not you may want to pick one up. It can be a valuable study aid in enhancing your understanding of God's word.

The Greek noun elpis in the New Testament has been translated as hope. (Rom 8:23-25). In modern day English many people associate the word hope with wishful thinking. I hope I win the lottery. They would like to win the lottery but are not really expecting to. This is not at all what the Greek word elpis means. As defined in Vine's it means confident expectation. It has to do with the unseen and the future.

In these verses (Rom 8:23-25) the believer eagerly awaits with confident expectation for Christ to take us out of this world to be with Him and the redemption of the body. There is no doubt in the believer if this is going to happen, its just a matter of when.

Don't give up!

Do you have friends, relatives, or loved ones that have turned a deaf ear to God and His message?

Don’t give up trying to lead them to Christ. As warriors for Christ it is our duty to introduce others to Christ. I am not saying beat them over the head with a frying pan until they relent; this strategy usually has the opposite effect and drives them further from Christ. However, you do need to find ways to feed them the word of God otherwise they will never come to know Him and enjoy eternal salvation. Click here for ideas & strategies.

Remember if you don’t tell them about salvation who will!

Salvation? What must I do to be saved?

Act 16:31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

By grace you have been saved.

God sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins.

Eph 1:7 In Him we have a redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Am I Going to Heaven?

This is probably the most important question, you could ask yourself. Your answer will have eternal consequences! Please watch this short slide show to understand the answer to this question.

Choose one of the two formats: "Am I going to Heaven?" (564 KB) with music or "Am I going to Heaven?" (296 KB) without music.

What is the hope of the cross?

I know Christ died my death on the cross so that I may have eternal life. But in everyday life what does that mean to a believer. It certainly does not take the bumps out of the road of life.

Sadly, you will hear many Christians when tragedy strikes them or a loved one, point to God and blame Him.

The truth about Christ's painful death on the cross is that Christ did not come to remove our human sufferings but to show us a way through it to all of the heavenly blessings beyond. Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,.

He has given us the strength to survive our tribulations until we are called home. His death on the cross is our guarantee! That is the hope of the cross.

Thought of the Month

One of the most important events in history took place on the cross approximately 2000 years ago.

There at the cross Christ, died for our sins (1Cor 15:3). There Christ died as our substitute paying for our sin. In that event was the solution to all the worlds’ problems and the defeat of Satan was assured.

Today, we are in a spiritual battle. The enemy cannot undo the greatest event in history, the event that was his undoing but Satan does not want to go down alone, so in this spiritual battle he is doing his best to remove the Bible and its teachings from the world in a vain attempt to erase that event from the history books so to speak.

In America we have a first hand taste of the results of taking God out of our lives, so, it is not surprising that we high divorce rates, crimes of all sorts, the doing away of absolute right and wrong, the murder of unborn children, and the rise of same sex marriages, and many more evils being visited upon us.

Those leading the attack against the Bible may be flaunting and reveling in these so called victories but if they truly understand the cross they will realize that they have already lost the war and all that they are doing now is storing up the wrath of God.

2 Thessalonians 1 8,9   In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2 Thessalonians 2 10   And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

God by His grace has stayed His wrath, but someday he will visit his righteous judgment upon all unbelievers. So before it is too late, join the winning side and accept Christ as your savior.
